Estate Repainting 2010 - Completed

The NC would like to announce that the "Estate Repainting 2010" exercise has been completed. We would like to thank all residents who have participated in this exercise. It was a very successful project with a total of 85 homes (from C Walk & C Rise) participated in the exercise.

Our estate is looking nice and fresh again with the uniform look, hopefully that should enhance the value of our estate.

If you have participated, a full 5 years joint warranty will be issued to you. Thank you for your support and see you again in the next repainting exercise which should be around 2016.

WWII Heritage Tour "Invasion of Singapore" - Very enjoyable!!!

Many thanks to the Lakeside Grove NC for organising a WWII heritage tour for our residents on Sunday 12 Sep 2010. Everyone enjoyed themselves on this lovely Sunday afternoon. We were enlightened to a history lesson on the "Invasion of Singapore" by our knowledgable tour guide, Darus. He is a very good story teller and took us through a day by day and minute by minute recount of how the events unfolded when the Japanese invaded Singapore in 1942. It was also a day filled with great photos opportunities.

The air-conditioned bus took us to several WWII sites. In the morning we visited The Kranji War Memorial, Serimbun Landing Site, The Kranji Landing site and The Kranji-Jurong Defense Line. At the Kranji War Memorial, we paid respect to those fallen soldiers. After a short poem recital by our tour guide, the Bugle Last Post was played as we observed 2 minutes of silence as a mark of respect. Each of us then lay a poppy flower on the memorial stone.

We stopped for a picnic lunch at the Bukit Timah hill, where the "Battle for Bukit Timah" took place. After lunch, we continued to The Bukit Batok Memorial for Japanese fallen soldiers before heading to the Old Ford Factory, where the British surrendered to the Japanese. At the factory we walked the path where Gen Percival and his men walked to surrender to Gen Yamashita.

It was almost a whole day outing, there were plenty of food and drinks in the bus to fill our hungry stomach.
