Further updates on haze situation

Dear Residents,

Our Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam has offered rather practical advice on his facebook page how to cope with the haze situation in Singapore.

As mentioned in his Facebook post, for those who want to remain updated on the haze situation, please visit the following website:
http://app2.nea.gov.sg/weather-climate/haze-updates

Also, due to the haze situation, it is vital that we have the most up to date information of our residents.

For those who have yet to provide your contact details, or have any changes, please update your contact details with the Lakeside Grove NC by sending an email to lakesidegrove@yahoo.com.sg.

Those who have queries, please contact us via the same email address, lakesidegrove@yahoo.com.sg as well.

Meanwhile, take care and try and stay indoors as much as possible!

Announcement: Haze news and information for residents' wellbeing

Dear Residents,

The haze situation in Singapore has definitely worsened over the past few days, and the Lakeside Grove Neighbourhood Committee is really concerned about not just the health of our loved ones, but of our neighbours and residents as well.

Do note that even with a mask on, MOH’s advice to the public is still to minimise exposure by reducing outdoor activities and physical exertion. This means staying indoors, and reducing the length of exposure and strenuous work if you need to be outside.
We have collated some of the suggestions from our NC members as well, on the possible ways  (currently trying and testing) to alleviate the effects of throat and nose irritation caused by the haze. Do let us know if it works for you, or if you have other remedies:
1. Boil green bean soup with pearl sago
2. Drink honey water
3. Take Manuka honey directly and don't drink water for the next 10 mins (idea is to have concentrated honey)
For more information on the haze and health, feel free to refer to the following website:
Stay safe and take care,

All of you should have received a copy of the flyer regarding the dengue indoor misting.

In case everyone was wondering, the indoor misting will be conducted for free, but in order for us to consolidate the numbers for NEA, we do require you to fill in the short form in the flyer and provide a response by Wed, 19 June 2013.

It takes about 15 mins per house, and the first session will be 24 June 2013 from 9.30 to 12noon.

To sign up for the indoor misting for your house, you can either send an email to lakesidegrove@yahoo.com.sgor drop off the form at the bottom of the flyer, at 117 Corporation Walk.
